Riverside.fm is an Israeli startup that offers a platform for remote recording. The firm raised $30 million in Series C funding. Led by Oren Zeev’s Zeev Ventures, with participation from Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six and angel investor Sam Lessin. Riverside has now raised $80 million to date.

Oren Zeev is an investor who has backed companies like Houzz, Audible, Chegg, TripActions, Tipalti, Next Insurance, Sunbit, Homelight, Domestika, Uber Freight, FireBolt, Veev and others. He is usually the main early investor and an active board member.

Founded in 2020 by brothers Gideon (CTO) and Nadav (CEO) Keyson, Riverside.fm calls itself the leading remote recording platform that “makes professional video creation achievable by anyone, anywhere on desktop or mobile.” The company helps creators and companies – including Guy Raz, Verizon Media, Marvel, and The New York Times – to record studio-quality interviews from anywhere, with no loss in recording quality.

Riverside, a popular podcast recording platform, emerged during the pandemic to cater to remote recording needs. Its core feature is the ability to record separate audio tracks for each participant, ensuring smooth recordings even if one participant encounters technical issues. Automatic backups provide an added layer of security, preventing data loss.

In the past year, Riverside has expanded its capabilities with the introduction of iOS and iPad apps, enabling high-quality, on-the-go podcast recording in HD resolution. Additionally, the platform’s revamped design offers a unified interface for recording, editing, and sharing, streamlining the entire podcast production process.

Some of Riverside’s features include High-res 4K video and high-fidelity 48kHz audio. Every participant’s video and audio tracks are saved separately as uncompressed, MP4 and WAV files, so that anyone can use it however they need. Business accounts come with as much storage as you want, so you can all record as much as you want. Can’t put a stop on the team’s creativity.
