Syrian Observatory: Israeli Jets Attack Syrian Military Positions

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Tuesday night that the Israeli Air Force conducted four airstrikes on the headquarters of the Syrian Army’s First Division, which houses military tanks. Additionally, explosions were heard in Ezrae’ following an Israeli attack on the 112th Brigade in the Daraa countryside.  Israeli fighter jets also targeted positions along the Syria-Lebanon border in Juroud Al-Naby, opposite Sarghaya Town in Rif Dimashq.

This came after an Israeli drone strike hit a position in the same Juroud Al-Naby area, killing two unidentified individuals.

A Syrian official told Kan11 News: “Israel’s actions harm relations between the two countries.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on the airstrikes in Syria: “We will not allow southern Syria to become another southern Lebanon. Any attempt by Syrian regime forces or terrorist organizations to establish a presence in the security zone of southern Syria will be met with fire.”

Netanyahu declared: “We will not allow the new Syrian army to enter the area south of Damascus. We demand the complete disarmament of the new regime’s forces in this region.” He further stressed that Israel would not tolerate any threat to the Druze community in southern Syria and outlined a firm stance on defending Israel’s strategic interests in the area.
