Users worldwide reported technical difficulties with the WhatsApp messaging app on Wednesday evening. 

The messaging app had previously appeared to be down for worldwide users in April. 

The application did not allow users to send or receive messages. 

In April, users reported having issues with WhatsApp's sister application, Instagram.
